Project Description

Retention Socket Shallow Foundation, Staffordshire

NAL Shallow Foundation Staffordshire

Staffordshire County Council upgraded the traffic signals of the Lammascote gyratory in Stafford. The project was quite unique because three arms and 75% of the gyratory structure is over a flood plain restricting the pole and access chamber depth to 280mm. The RS115 Shallow Foundation Retention Socket was used to secure all the traffic Signal poles with a planting depth of 235mm, this ensured there was no risk to the structure of the bridge. All the civil’s works were completed prior to the traffic signal pole installation and standard poles were installed with a reduced planting depth.
