Fife Council have utilised the NAL Retention Socket for the installation of bollards and benches at Leven bus station.
The client specified the Retention Socket as it enables the simple removal of the street furniture at any time. Bollards and benches installed within the bus station are vulnerable to vehicular impact. Should these become damaged the sockets allow the furniture to be removed and replaced in minutes. Alternatively, the sockets can be sealed with a pedestrian plug until furniture is available making the pavement safe for the public.
In addition, by using the Retention Socket all applications can be removed for replacement or maintenance with no requirement for further civils work, causing minimal disruption to the public while also saving the local authority expenditure.
