The upgrading of level crossing barriers and road lights is essential to ensure public safety while crossing live tracks.
Unfortunately, these projects can cause lengthy delays and disruption to both road and rail users as road and track closures are often required.
To minimise this disruption Network Rail has chosen to install the road lights into the NAL Retention Socket System.
This allows the completion of all the civils works prior to the removal of the lights, drastically reducing the road and track closure times required.
It also enables quick and simple removal of the lights in the event of vehicle damage, thus future proofing all installations.
