Case Study - RETENTION SOCKETS FOR SIGN POLES

RS76x76CAM | Newcastle...

In 2009, due to changes in parking legislation, Newcastle City Council undertook the large scale project of installing approximately 1000 signposts and 3500 signs. The NAL RS76x76 Retention Socket with integrated Camlock and a planting depth of 300mm were used for all posts. This minimised the risk of contact with major underground services during the civil’s installation works. Civil’s works were restricted to between 09.00 and 15.30, during which time an average of 15 Retention Sockets were installed in a day. This was followed up by the fitting of the signs to the posts in the workshop and approximately 50 posts and signs were installed into the Retention Sockets by a two person team per day.
