The SIS SOLO (Underground) has been designed and Patented (Pat. GB2435557B) to provide complete electrical isolation to individual illuminated street furniture within 0.2 seconds of impact. This complies with EN12767, which requires disconnection within 0.4 seconds. Each electrically powered structure is fitted with a SIS impact sensor. This sensor is a completely mechanical device which requires no external power and as such draws no current. The Sensor is connected to the SIS Solo (Underground) unit. This unit is housed in an IP67 Enclosure within an underground 40 Tonne STAKKAbox Access Chamber. The chamber is situated within close proximity of the structure it is protecting. The SIS SOLO (Underground) unit comprises of a Din rail mounted bespoke monitor unit, miniature circuit breakers and a shunt trip. On activation of the impact sensor, the monitor unit will operate the shunt trip operating the attached miniature circuit breaker, therefore rendering the structure completely voltage free. The monitor unit is fitted with outputs which can be used to indicate SIS activation to a remote monitoring system. This entire operation is guaranteed to be completed in under 0.2 seconds. This system has been successfully installed on various passively safe schemes throughout the UK. Please contact us for more detailed information.
