Project Description

Steel Ducting, M5 Junction 23

Steel Ducting M5 J23

The installation of traffic signals, overseen by RK Bell, was required to assist in managing the increased traffic around an M5 bridge as a result of the Hinkley Point C project. NAL Steel Ducting was specified to install traffic signal ducting across the bridge deck in existing tarmac footways.

With the installation taking place on the bridge, RK Bell required the ducting to be installed at shallow depth with minimal cover to the ducting. NAL Steel Ducting
meets and exceeds these requirements.

The steel ducting system is installed at a depth of 200mm making it the ideal solution for bridge deck installations, while boasting a high crush strength providing superior protection compared with traditional ducting systems. Furthermore the smooth internal walls of the steel ducting prevents cable snagging.
