A number of NAL Rotating Mast Arms were installed in the Brixton area of London.
Transport for London opted for this system as it enables the maintenance of the mast arm signals while it is safely rotated off the highway. This removes the need for costly and disruptive traffic management required with traditional mast arm maintenance.
The major benefit of the system is its ability to be rotated 360 degrees by a single maintenance operative using a unique gearing mechanism within the mast. The masts installed in the Brixton scheme were manufactured with both an 8 meter and 10 meter outreach.
