The Victorian Christmas market requires much preparation before the event can commence, which has been made easier since the installation of NAL’s Retention Socket System. The sockets were chosen to install multiple cast-iron bollards as well as high street benches and guard railings. Because of this, all the furniture is now fully demountable enabling the local authority to efficiently remove the applications from the sockets for storage during the event.
While the sockets are unused they are secured with the pedestrian plugs; these are stored in the side chamber when the sockets are occupied. With the plugs in place the sockets are safe for pedestrians to walk on.
